The citizens of the Marina Alta were called to the polls this Sunday, May 28. After an intense day, from 21:30 p.m. the first results began to be known. At 00:39 a.m., 100% of the votes were counted in all the municipalities. This is the map with the last hour of the count in each location:

00:39 | Tormos, the last municipality to receive the official vote count from the Ministry

The Marina Alta arrives at the end of the electoral day, celebrating the victories distributed by its geography. Only one municipality in the region, Tormos, has exceeded midnight without knowing the final results. The Ministry of the Interior has already made them known, with the victory of the PP, although with only 4 councilors. Tot per Tormos has achieved 3.

The Popular Party has not achieved an absolute majority. Once the count is over, it has 2.262 votes and 8 councillors. Somos Calpe, for its part, has gathered 1.844 votes and 6 councillors. The PSPV-PSOE has lost three councilors compared to 2019 and, although Compromís and Defendamos Calpe maintain their two representatives respectively, they do not add up to enough to make a government pact.

The PP has obtained 241 votes in Llíber, becoming the formation with the most votes. The popular get 5 councilors, while the independent formation Avant Llíber is left with 2 councilors and 129 votes.

For its part, in Orba Compromís it has obtained 51% of the votes and gets 6 councilors. In second position, the PSOE obtains 3 councilors and the Popular Party 2.


22:20 | The Popular Party wins the elections in Gata de Gorgos

With 100% scrutinized, the Popular Party is the force with the most votes in Gata de Gorgos with 1.294 votes and 6 councilors. Secondly, Compromís has obtained 4 councilors and 914 votes and the PSOE, 720 votes and 3 mayors.

The PSPV wins the elections in Pego again (2.252 votes) and gets one more councilor than 4 years ago (8), the PP is in second position with 1.688 votes and 5 councilors (two more than 4 years ago) and Compromís loses 1 mayor and is in third position with 1.376 votes and 4 councillors.

For its part, in Ondara the Popular Party has won, obtaining 5 councilors (1 more than 4 years ago) and 1.390 votes and in second position is the PSOE with the same number of councilors, 5 (1.363 votes). Compromís is in third position with 776 votes and 3 councilors.


22:05 | VOX: second force in El Verger

With 100% of the votes counted, Compromís wins, by votes, the elections in El Verger, increasing the number of councilors by one (4). Vox is positioned as the second most voted force in the municipality and brings together 3 councilors. The PP and the PSPV-PSOE have 2 each.


21:45 | Half scrutinized Dénia y Xàbia

With practically 50% of the ballot, in Xàbia the PSOE would obtain 9 councillors, two less than in 2019 and would be left out of the absolute majority. Very close, the PP would obtain 8 councilors, 3 more than 4 years ago, Ciudadanos por Jávea would maintain the two councilors, Compromís would drop to 1 mayor and VOX would enter Xàbia politics with one mayor.

In Dénia the PSOE would win the elections but would lose 2 councillors, the PP on the other hand would rise from 3 to 6 councillors, Compromís would maintain its 3 councillors, VOX would enter the town hall with 1 councilor and Gent de Dénia would maintain its councillor.


21:30 | 100% in Vall de Gallinera and Benigembla

In La Vall de Gallinera they have already carried out 100% of the recount. Gent per la Vall obtains 80% of the votes while the PP remains with 16%. Also in Benigembla the final results are already known: the PSOE wins with 74% of the votes to the Popular Party, which obtains 24%.

After 21:00 p.m. the first results begin to be known. La Vall de Laguar is the first municipality in the region with 100% counted: 65,97% of the votes for Compromís and 29,87% for the PP.


18:30 | Participation in the Marina Alta stands at 62%

Participation grows compared to 4 years ago in all the municipalities of the Marina Alta, except in 1, Senija, which is one point below the previous municipal elections (62,21%).

62% have already gone to vote with barely an hour and a half left for the polling stations to close.

In the largest municipalities in the region, participation is still quite high compared to 4 years ago. In Dénia, 51,16%, in Xàbia, 51,09%, in Calp, 43,97% (7 points more than in 2019) and in Teulada Moraira 47,21 (13 points more than 4 years ago ).

Also noteworthy is the high turnout in Sanet i Negrals where, at this time, 86,43% of the electorate have voted.


14:30 | 47% of citizens have already exercised their right to vote

In the first participation update, approximately 47% of the citizens called to the polls in the Marina Alta have already gone to vote.

The participation increases in practically all the municipalities of the region, with the exception of two of them, Beniarbeig and Benidoleig, which reduce their participation, at this time, 5 and 2 points, respectively.

The large increase in participation in Teulada-Moraira stands out. At 14:00 p.m. it was 34,50%, while at the same time, in 2019, barely 24,23% of the electorate had voted. The data from Sanet i Negrals is also significant, where 86,22% of citizens have already voted (in 2019, at this time, 53,67%) had voted.

The Marina Alta votes today for the next mayor or mayoress for its 33 municipalities and the one who will be President of the Generalitat Valenciana. From nine in the morning, the citizens of the region are called to the polls to decide the political future of the next 4 years.
