A Popular Court judges two men whom the Prosecutor's Office accuses of beating a third to death during a fight that took place outside a pub in the municipality of Xaló on March 27, 2017.
The jury must decide whether the defendants, together with a minor third party, started an argument with a group of people, including the deceased, during which they knocked him down and, once on the ground, hit him all over the body until the victim became semiconscious, which one of the defendants took advantage of to kick him hard in the head. The Prosecutor's Office describes the facts as constituting a crime of homicide.
The trial will begin next week, on Monday, at the Provincial Court of Alicante.
