Aerial and land-based means increase to control the Vall d'Ebo fire

Dozens of troops have worked all night to try to control the fire that started last night in the Vall d'Ebo, in the Frigalet area, due to lightning. During the early morning, a new section of the third Emergency Intervention Battalion (BIEM3) was incorporated. The fire has been directed towards the Vall de Laguar, Vall d'Alcalà and Vall de la Gallinera.

First thing this morning more troops were incorporated into the work of extinguishing the fire, which at the moment affects an area of ​​pine trees and vegetation. Nine aerial means fight from the air to control and extinguish the fire. Also working from land are 6 units of Forest Firefighters, 7 fire trucks, 15 Firefighters from the Alicante Provincial Council and 2 forestry coordinators.

The 9 aerial means are: 2 Emergency means of the Generalitat, 2 Alicante Provincial Fire Department helicopters, two planes from the Castellón Provincial Fire Department, a coordination helicopter from the CEE and two planes from the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Agenda Urban of the Government of Spain.

During the early morning, the Advanced Command Point (PMA) is installed and more troops arrive from the UME.

Increase the number of firefighting forces

At 10:10 am, the CEE reported on the developments in the extinction work and evolution of the Vall d'Ebo fire. Four new air means are added to those mobilized to fight the flames, so there are already 13 planes and helicopters fighting from the air to control the fire.

From the ground, more teams are working piecework, including 6 units of Forest Firefighters from the Generalitat, 6 fire trucks, 19 Firefighters from the Alicante Provincial Council, 2 forestry coordinators, 3 environmental agents, 128 UME soldiers who work in the attack direct and liquidation of the fire and the PMA.

Control and monitoring of the regional authorities

The Regional Secretary for Security and Emergencies, José María Ángel, and the General Director of the Interior, Salva Almenar, attended the Advanced Command Post first thing today to follow the evolution of the fire first-hand and hold a meeting of coordination.

The Minister of Justice, Interior and Public Administration, Gabriela Bravo, is expected to attend at 12 noon today to participate in a coordination meeting of the Emergency Services.
