Ondara is in the north of the Marina Alta region. Its municipal area has approximately 10 square kilometers and borders with Dénia, Beniarbeig, Benimeli, Pedreguer and Vergel. Its inhabitants were, according to the 2019 census, 6894 people.

The municipality of Ondara does not have access to the sea and is practically flat, except for the Segaria mountain, which is about 370 meters high. The place name (place name) would come from "Ondar", an Iberian word that means "arenal".
