Last Saturday, towns like Dénia, Pedreguer and Teulada Moraira participated in the lighting of towers, watchtowers and talayots of the Mediterranean, an initiative that aims to raise awareness among the population about the situation in the Mediterranean region, where many people lose their lives every year.
Furthermore, it seeks to vindicate and highlight these constructions as part of the historical and cultural heritage present in all the territories that border our sea.
The action involves the coordinated lighting of flares and smoke from towers and coastal fortifications, as well as from inland municipalities. Previously, a manifesto prepared by the Ramón Muntaner Institute is read and the moment in which the attendees interpret Travel to Itacby Lluís Llach.
Dénia gathered in front of the Town Hall, while Pedreguer called two marches, one during the day and one at night, to climb the tossal dels Molinets. Teulada Moraira lit the Castle located in front of the sea.
