The Poetes per la Cultura Association announces the fourth edition of the Marina Alta Poetry Prize, a literary contest supported by the Salom Sabar Foundation that seeks to recognize the quality and originality of unpublished works in Spanish or Valencian.
The call will be open until July 31, 2024, and poets of any nationality may participate, without age restrictions. The works, free in theme and form, must have a minimum length of 150 verses and a maximum of 300. Two categories are established: one for works in Spanish and another for works in Valencian. The prize for each category consists of 500 euros, a dinner and one night's accommodation in a hotel in the area to attend the award ceremony.
In previous editions, the Marina Alta Poetry Prize has received a great reception from the literary community. The winners of the third edition were José Antonio Enrique Jiménez with his work “Game of the Moon and Sand on My Front” in the Spanish category, and María José Juan Mahiques with her work “Tutorial del conreu de dimonis” in the Valencian category. .
Poetes per la Cultura is a non-profit association, based in Dénia, whose main purpose is to support and promote poetry and its creators in the Marina Alta region. To fulfill its mission, the association organizes various literary activities throughout the year, both independently and in collaboration with other entities.
Since 2022, the Salom Sabar Foundation has collaborated with Poetes per la Cultura as a sponsoring entity of the Marina Alta Poetry Prize, supporting initiatives that promote culture and literary creation.
How to participate
To compete in the IV Marina Alta Poetry Prize, the originals must be sent in digital format as "POETRY plus TITLE and a PSEUDONYM", accompanied by another file with that pseudonym, containing the name of the author, contact information and a brief Curriculum Vitae to the email address poetesperlacultura@gmail.com.
