The Vall de Laguar will be the scene of the “Conéixer el Territori i la Llengua” conference on April 19 and 20, which will extend to Sunday the 21st with various guided routes. This event, organized by the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV) through the Linguistic Promotion Service, has as its main audience the students, teaching and administrative staff of the UPV, although it is also open to the general public.

The conference, which will take place with activities such as talks and hiking routes, aims to provide participants with comprehensive knowledge of the territory, its history and local gastronomy. In this edition, the focus has been especially on the Valls de la Marina Alta.

One of the highlights is the collaboration between the UPV and the Cultural Mancomunitat of the Marina Alta (MACMA). From the Mancomunitat, two talks have been scheduled focused on the history of the Marina Alta, as well as dissemination material has been provided for attendees.

MACMA's Culture and Heritage technician, Núria Gómez Bolufer, has detailed the entity's participation in the conference, highlighting the talks titled "D'Al-Azraq i Jaume I als moriscos i mallorquins", and "Cultura, societat i “emigration from the Marina Alta to America” by the former manager of the entity, Vicent Ortuño y Ginestar.

On the other hand, the regional president of the MACMA, Sergi Ferrús Peris, has highlighted the entity's interest in collaborating with initiatives that value local heritage and culture, highlighting the transfer of informative material such as cultural maps of the Marina Alta in large format and the image rights to create an illustrated puzzle of the region.

These days not only promote knowledge of the territory and its history, but also reinforce the ties between academic institutions and local entities for the dissemination and preservation of cultural heritage.
