Ondara is in the north of the Marina Alta region. Its municipal area has approximately 10 square kilometers and borders with Dénia, Beniarbeig, Benimeli, Pedreguer and Vergel. Its inhabitants were, according to the 2019 census, 6894 people.

However, in recent decades the population of Ondara has not suffered a decline but its curve always goes up gently: according to the Local Directory of the Province of Alicante, in 1998 there were 5216 Ondara, and as we have said, in 2019 there were 6894. of which 1078 were foreign nationals.
