On Saturday night, a forest fire was declared in the marsh area, approximately 50 meters from the CV-715 km 5, in Pego. The event has generated the immediate mobilization of various resources to control the situation.

So far, a total of 4 crews from the Alicante Provincial Fire Department and 2 crews from the Pego Local Police have been deployed. Subsequently, 3 additional crews from the Alicante Provincial Fire Department and an environmental agent joined the extinguishing operation.
The fire has required a rapid and coordinated response from local and regional authorities to contain its advance and prevent possible further damage. So far, no injuries have been reported nor the cause of the fire starting has been indicated.
The emergency team continues working in the area to control the fire and guarantee the safety of the population and the affected natural environment. It is expected that in the next few hours the situation can be stabilized and the causes and extent of the fire can be determined.
