Agents of the National Police have arrested two men and a woman accused of drug trafficking, electricity fraud and belonging to a criminal group. The investigations brought to light that one of the detainees remained for long periods of time in a residence in Pedreguer, where numerous indications of the crime of traffic were found.

The police investigation began as a result of a complaint filed by an electricity distributor, which informed the agents that there was a clandestine tapping in a house located in the town of Benidorm in order to hide a possible illegal activity and prevent overspending on the electric bill.

After learning of the fact, agents in charge of the investigation began a series of surveillance and monitoring of the residents of the house in question, connecting them with other people and houses in the area. Those investigated made numerous fleeting visits to other citizens who were staying in hotels and tourist accommodation.

The investigations revealed that those arrested had meetings with other people known to the agents of other investigations related to drug trafficking.

More homes in Pedreguer and La Nucía

The long stays that one of those investigated spent in two other addresses different from the one he was usually associated with, located in the towns of La Nucía and Pedreguer, alerted the investigating agents. Following this line of investigation, they carried out numerous follow-ups and surveillance on those investigated and the houses they frequented, finally establishing that these houses were the ones they used to hide drugs and other tools used in marijuana crops.

Finally, the exploitation phase of the operation began, carrying out the corresponding entry and registration procedures at the addresses investigated. Under the instruction of the Investigating Courts of Benidorm, they arrested the three involved in the events as alleged perpetrators of the crimes of drug trafficking, fraud of electricity and belonging to a criminal group.

In the three searches carried out in the aforementioned homes, 100 budded marijuana plants were seized, close to 17.000 euros, a precision scale, a compressed air gun, a machete, as well as other effects and substances intended for processing and trafficking. of narcotic substances.

The police investigation has not ended and is still ongoing, since the arrest of two others involved in the investigated events is still pending. The three detainees, between 29 and 37 years of age, two of them with previous records for similar crimes, were released after declaring at police stations while waiting to appear in court.
