A street in Calp reopens to traffic after aesthetic adaptation works

02 March 2022 - 12: 56

The works on Calle De Fora in Calp have been completed, so it is once again open to traffic. Specifically, the redevelopment of the street had been carried out to adapt it to the aesthetic and functional criteria of the adjacent streets, Calle Llibertat and Calle de la Justícia.

In this way, the sanitation pipes have been replaced, the manholes have been improved, the pavement of the road has been renewed and the lighting has been replaced by another LED. In addition, architectural barriers have been removed in order to encourage pedestrian traffic.

The cost of the works has risen to 122.123,79 euros. These works are added to those already carried out on Calle Alcalde Vicente Pastor and Calle Benissa and those on Calle Murillo, currently under construction. Ana Sala, mayor of Calp, assures that these works will allow "a more peripheral road traffic and therefore, less aggressive for the old town".

From the consistory they affirm that these actions are intended to improve pedestrian mobility in the old town, as well as in the urban landscape. All of them are part of the Sustainable and Integrated Urban Development Strategy EDUSI "Revitaliza Calp", co-financed with the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) of the European Union.
