On March 9, a new political party in Calp was presented to the world on social networks. Somos Calpe was registered under the name of the husband of the current Calpina mayoress, Ana Sala, stating its headquarters in the advice of this. Everything seemed to indicate that the candidate of the new project would be her, after her current party, the PP, chose César Sánchez as mayoral candidate.
The possibility of Sala running is generating obvious political tension within the local Popular Party. If this news is finally confirmed, the party leadership could take action and open an expulsion file against him.
A few weeks ago, the current mayor resigned from the presidency of the party that brought her to office. Now, most of the PP councilors have backed Sánchez's candidacy, leaving Sala in a clearly isolated position.
However, the enigma of the new Somos Calpe party will be revealed this Friday at 20:00 p.m., when the "candidate" will present himself, according to the poster announcing the event. The motto is "I'm still by your side", so the evidence is quite clear.
