Xàbia hosts the meeting of the Governing Council of the Agreement for the Occupation of the Marina Alta

City Council Xàbia has been the meeting point of the meeting of the Governing Council of the Regional Agreement for the Occupation of the Marina Alta, an agreement promoted by the Consortium for the Recovery of Economic Activity of the Marina Alta (Creama) that works to promote active employment policies in the Marina Alta, in which it constitutes one of the first events organized on the occasion of the annual capital status of Creama that it assumes in 2024.

All the mayors of the municipalities and local entities of the region that are part of the Regional Agreement attended the meeting, with 32 town councils and 14 regional entities being members. In addition, the president of the Creama Consortium and deputy for Economic Development and European Projects, Carlos Pastor, the general director of Employment and Training - dependent on the Department of Education, Universities and Employment -, Elías Amor, the president of the Consortium, Rosario Donderis, and the mayor of Xàbia, Rosa Cardona.

In this meeting, Elías Amor highlighted the great work carried out in the Marina Alta with the different projects such as the Observatori, PACTE'MA or the Punt Náutic program, among others. Amor has expressed the importance of sharing the successes obtained with these initiatives with the rest of the territorial pacts. The general director has stressed that Creama and Marina Alta, with this pact, are in third position in the Community "due to the volume of activity they present."

Likewise, Amor has announced a few days in each province "to exchange experiences" and for Creama to present its lines of work such as the Marina Alta Observatory, the Passport Marina Alta initiative, the Punt Nàutic and the Xarxa Agrícola.

For her part, the manager of Creama, Rosario Donderis, has indicated that this meeting serves to establish new lines of work and carry out actions that comply with the services and tourism sector, which are the most in demand in this area and thus improve the economy. Donderis also spoke about the Xarxa Agrícola projects, which aim to give young people alternatives to other jobs.

The president of Creama and deputy for Economic Development and European Projects, Carlos Pastor has pointed out that "an agreement of these characteristics "is the most appropriate" for employment policies at the regional level, and has urged the Consortium and all town councils to " continue working in that line.

Meanwhile, the mayor of Xàbia, Rosa Cardona, has referred to the work of the Comarcal Per l'Ocupació Agreement as a tool that "lays the foundations to continue working to improve employment in our towns and our region."

Agreements of the Rector Council

The agreements that this regional body has made have been:

  • Adhesion to the Valencian Business Confederation (CEV)
  • The adaptation of the agreement to the new regulations approved by the Generalitat
  • The results of the 2023 annuity and the 2024 lines of action of the territorial projects
  • Results of projects developed within the framework of aid aimed at promoting the economy
    sustainable in the Valencian Community for the financial year 2023 in the form of aid for employment and local development pacts.

Origin of the Regional Agreement for Occupation

The Regional Occupation Agreement promoted by Creama was born in 2017 and is currently made up of 32 town councils and 14 public and private entities in the Marina Alta as a way to obtain resources in order to develop active employment policies in based on the result of the agreement between public administrations, social agents and other actors that influence these policies.

Town Councils: Creama, Alcalalí, l'Atzúbia, Beniarbeig, Benidoleig, Benigembla, Benimeli, Benissa, Calp, Castell de Castells, Dénia, Els Poblets, Gata de Gorgos, Lliber, Murla, Ondara, Orba, Parcent, Pedreguer, Pego, El Poble Nou de Benitatxell, Ràfol d'Almúnia, Sanet i Negrals, Sagra, Senija, Teulada, Tormos, La Vall de
Gallinera, La Vall d'Ebo, La Vall de Laguar, El Verger, Xàbia and Xaló.

Public and private entities: Association of Directors of IES of the Valencian Country, Aehtma, Alicante Chamber of Commerce, Cedma, CEV, CCOO-PV Las Marinas, UGT Las Marinas, Stepv, Spanish Red Cross, Fevecta, Jovempa, Macma, Marina Alta Emprende, UNED-Dénia and Glorieta Group.
