The Popular Party demands responsibilities from the president of the Generalitat, Ximo Puig, regarding the situation on Line 9 of the Tram Dénia-Alicante. Currently, trains are faced with difficulty passing through some sections, such as the Quisi bridge, and users are forced to make transfers to reach their destination.
Pepa Font, representing Dénia, the mayor of Benissa and regional secretary of the PP, Arturo Poquet, as well as the campaign manager of the Popular Party of the Valencian Community, Miguel Barrachina and other representatives of the region, have traveled to this area to assess this situation.
Arturo Poquet has denounced "the mismanagement that Ximo Puig has done to a railway infrastructure that is very important for the entire Marina Alta region". The mayor of Benissa regrets that a new bridge is being built, valued at around 10 million euros, to "correct the mismanagement of the Botànic government, because the trains bought for 43,3 million euros cannot pass over the bridge of the I wanted”. Today, the popular has insisted, a student from Benissa who wants to get to Alicante takes about three hours to reach their destination, including transfers.
For his part, Pepa Font added that "Dénia has been without a rail connection between Dénia and Alicante for many years and the situation right now continues to be unfortunate." The popular has stated that with "the money that has been allocated to this infrastructure there would be free transportation for the entire region for more than 50 years."
Finally, Miguel Barrachina has assured that "this is a true monument to the socialist waste of Ximo Puig". The popular has regretted that there are two united bridges; the old one restored in 2019, through which only 53 tons pass, and which is not valid for the new trains that weigh 62 tons and, now, the new bridge that is being built in parallel”. That is why he has called on Ximo Puig to remove Minister Rebeca Torró, who promoted the hasty inauguration. But not only her, but also the manager Anaís of Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat and the first vice-president of Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat because "they don't know anything about railway technique".
