PSOE Calp denounces the City Council's intention to acquire a house in ruins linked to the convicted former mayor

13 December 2022 - 11: 05

The PSPV PSOE Calp has recently denounced the intention of the Calp Town Council to acquire a property, a "family inheritance", linked to the company Promociones y Construcciones Morato SL, of which Javier Morató, the former popular mayor of Calp sentenced to two and a half years in prison prison, is listed as a joint administrator.

The objective of buying this house would be to include it in the Interior Reform Plan (PRI) of the old town of Calp. This was raised in the 80s to decongest or renew urban or urbanized land uses, create urban planning resources and community facilities. The house in question would form part of the access to an interior square of future construction.

The PSOE assures that the current government of Calp has returned to rescue the PRI, in whose first layout the acquisition of the house linked to Morató did not appear. And it goes further. This fact has entered into debate at present, since the formation assures that it has received several neighborhood complaints that warn of the dilapidated state of the house, which already appears in the project and on which there is no record of ruins, plan of expropriation or any urban discipline file.

The rainwater of the last few days has intensified the poor condition of the house, penetrating directly into the house through the roof, collapsing, creating humidity and leaks to all the adjoining neighbors. Since at the moment everything remains in a purchase intention, the Socialists warn of the duty of the Consistory to initiate a file on its state of ruin.

If the obvious state of the house is not taken into account, the City Council could pay for it what a house in a regulatory state would be worth. For this reason, PSPV PSOE Calp trusts “in the good work of the municipal technicians. We are convinced that the City Council, in the case of acquiring the plot, does so under fair price conditions, without paying more or less than what is stipulated by law, and, obviously, without buying a pig for a poke (That is to say: ruin by palace).
