The Departments of Culture and Childhood, Adolescence and Youth of the Ondara City Council have organized a day around reading and books to commemorate this Sunday, April 23, International Book Day.
The day, which will take place in the Prado building and pier, will begin at 11:00 a.m. with different activities, such as traditional games and giant wooden games, or a visit to the exhibition "Llegim?", which the Foundation has donated Joke to the Ondara City Council.
From the same time, literary stands will also be set up. A stand will be that of the Municipal Library of Ondara, where different books will be offered to be able to exchange and give away, at the same time that it will be possible to carry out a workshop for making magnets or plates with drawings around the day of the book.
Another stand will be that of the local publisher and bookstore "Dilatando Mentas", where, in addition to having a wide variety of books to consult and buy, you can also visit an exhibition of board games, which can be purchased at your establishment. In addition, the Book Day stands will have the presence of the Ondarenc writer Jovi Lozano and the writer Caryana Castillo, who will sign copies of his latest works.
At 12:00 pm, there will be a musical performance by the Nànets Band and the clown Pupetes, who return to Ondara with their new show "Rights" on the Rights of children and adolescents.
The day will end at 14:00 p.m., although at 19:00 p.m. the children's theater "Dorotea and the world of books" will take place in the Ondara Municipal Auditorium, run by the Lola Carmela company, with free and open access .
The Department of Culture, directed by Raquel Mengual, has also reported that the boys and girls who are 5 years old this year (born in 2018) will be able to pick up their gift book as first readers, and the card application form from the municipal library , during the morning at the Municipal Library stand, or in the afternoon, at the ticket office of the Municipal Auditorium. The Department of Culture encourages citizens to participate in this day around books and literature.
