On June 18, the Fira i Festes de Pego convened among its acts a Trobada between the Muixeranga de la Marina Alta and the Castellers de l'Alt Maresme i la Selva de Mar. A great show in which the Muixeranga delighted the public almost 70 green shirts. The members managed to rebuild emblematic figures of four heights so acclaimed in their performances.
The Fadrí, the Remat d'Alta or the Figuereta, were the figures that exhibited and that made the meeting an important event for the regional group. Since, after the difficult years of the pandemic, the Muixeranga de la Marina Alta was able to recover activity again with total normality.
As the Muixeranga points out, the tradition that unites them has suffered one of the worst blows during the entire health crisis, since they carry out a practice with a lot of physical contact. Something that society could not afford during the entire pandemic period.
After the worst months, the group muixaranguera little by little he resumed the activity, distributing culture and tradition in different towns of the Marina Alta. Now, the Muixeranga makes an appeal to the regional society, above all, to families with children, so that their group continues to grow. With the aim of welcoming members of each regional municipality, they encourage people to try their luck in this popular practice.
