On the afternoon of Tuesday, September 5, as this newspaper already reported, the Xarxa of Mayors of the Marina Alta met to discuss the current situation at the hospital. Dénia, after the meeting held by the new Health Minister, Marciano Gómez, with the hospital's Work Committee.
At the meeting it was agreed to request a meeting with the Minister to explain the situation and the roadmap. It is worth remembering that in May, the Xarxa of mayors already met with the Manager of the hospital and with the previous Minister.
According to a statement issued this Thursday by the Popular Party of the region, Arturo Poquet, regional coordinator of the PP in the Marina Alta, spoke directly with the new Minister before the meeting to convey to the Xarxa, the actions being carried out by the Department of Sanitat at the Dénia Hospital.
The new Minister claims to be following the roadmap that the Popular Party said before the elections. "The first thing was to ask for an internal audit to know the real situation of the Department of Health, and this has been done."
On the other hand, regarding the Collective Agreement that the workers freely agreed with the company, "it is currently being prosecuted and therefore blocked, after the complaint by the Botànic Government." In this sense, the Ministry of Health has promised to do everything in its power to unlock the legal path and thus be able to improve the working conditions of hospital workers.
In addition, the Ministry of Health has appointed a new Commissioner, Juan Félix Quintero, who will be in charge of the control and monitoring of the company. Said appointment, according to the popular ones, has been viewed "positively" by the Works Council since he has already worked in the hospital, "they know him and he knows how to work here."
Therefore, the Minister has confirmed that the reversal process is continuing but no decision will be made until the result of the audit is available, which will probably be ready in a couple of months. "The Popular Party is doing what it said it would do before the elections: guarantee the quality of care for all users and try to unblock the Collective Agreement to improve the working conditions of workers," says the party itself.
