Compromís celebrates the reversal of the Hospital "that the PP has been forced to do", but they warn: "We will monitor"

January 31 from 2024 - 12: 54

"We celebrate, but we are vigilant." The phrase perfectly summarizes Compromís' appearance today in front of the Hospital de Dénia on the day before its reversal. Starting tomorrow, the Health Department of the Marina Alta will return to public management, as has been demanded by the majority of residents of the region. A reversal that, although it is true that the Valencian party has demanded it for years, was finally allowed by the Popular Party, now in charge of the powers.

Now, as Aitana Mas, deputy spokesperson for Compromís in Les Corts, pointed out this Wednesday at the doors of the Dénia Hospital: "We will be monitoring how the Consell restructures a health department that for many years has suffered from an economic experiment created by the governments of the PP and that have meant that there are citizens with fewer health rights than the rest of Valencians.

Mas has appeared before the media in Dénia together with Maria José Garcia, Gerard Fullana, Ximo Perles and Carles Esteve to show Compromís' intention to closely monitor that the reversal occurs in the best conditions and the service is not diminished due to lack of resources. They have called the reversal "low cost" because staff will not be increased as much as has happened in other departments previously to compensate for shortfalls. «There is a notable difference in the percentage of increase in workers. While in Alzira it was 31%, Torrevieja, 58%, in Dénia we found that the reinforcement planned by the councilor is 15%," said Esteve, deputy responsible for Health.

Esteve has demanded that the councilor claim from the company, which has earned 1.600 billion euros since 2009 in the region, the debt it leaves behind. According to the coalition's calculations and Health data, it would be around 130 million euros between liquidation of the debt accumulated with the public administration between 2014 and 2024.

Dropping out of Primary

The deputy of the region, Gerard Fullana, has stressed that "we have a bittersweet taste. We would have liked to have given this news earlier, but if we could not it was due to the contractual shield made by the PP governments that initiated this model to reverse the contracts. The reversal, as proposed by the PP, hides an electoral non-compliance by Mazón, who said that the priority was the primary while in Dénia he makes a lower increase in personnel in the other regions where he did so. Botanic reverted to public management. The increase in personnel is focused on the hospital center and not on the health centers. We will work so that primary care is as equipped as in other regions and health departments," said Fullana, who recalled that the coalition does not rule out judicial avenues to claim the 130 million owed by the concessionaire.

Infrastructure deficit: Calp and Dénia

On the municipal side, Maria José Gómez and Ximo Perles, councilor of Dénia and spokesperson for the Calp city council and the Alicante Provincial Council respectively, have claimed the health centers committed by the company in its infrastructure plan in Dénia and Calp and that were never built. «We demand that the department fight for the interests of our region and demand the health centers. Without these two centers the reversal will never be complete,” Gómez considered. In turn, Perlas has insisted that the company "leaves three debts: a moral one, an economic one and an infrastructure one."

Under one condition or another, starting tomorrow the Dénia Hospital will once again be under public management. Now, Aitana Mas insists: «This is an obligatory reversal for the Consell de Mazón, whose path was marked by the Botànic government. It is a success for an entire region that for many years has worked to make healthcare a right and not a business. It is the death of an ideological model, an economic experiment that the PP installed and that always hides personal interests from the party environment. This health model of crony capitalism meant basing health management on economic and non-health criteria.

The problem Nino is that NOBODY CONTRIBUTES IDEAS, SOLUTIONS, ETC, ONLY "THEY LOOK AT THEIR NAVEL" AND THEY CRITICIZE EACH OTHER. That's not politics.

  2. NinoP says:

These pan-Catalanist servants of the PSPV are outrageous.

Instead of supporting and pitching in to ensure that the long-awaited reversal is a success and a great improvement in the health service for citizens, they focus on “monitoring”… what?
It's easy to do nothing for years and then look at the actions and work of others only to criticize.
That is being at the service of the citizen, yes sir.
