In recent months, the media have revived some of the large urban projects planned to be carried out in the region. Controversially involved or not, three of them have been in the news recently and stand out for their large dimensions. Between the three they would add 2.591 newly built homes in the Marina Alta and two of them are expected in rather small municipalities in the region.

One of the most talked about has been the Integrated Action Plan (PAI) Pego Golf. According to programming bases for the award by indirect management of the plan published by the Pego City Council on its website, the urban parameters of the project calculate the construction of 1.303 homes.

The total area of the area of action of the plan is 1.667.627,69 m², although 322.399,88 m² are specified for the residential area and 672.976,43 m² for the sports-recreational area. This project is based on a base tender budget of 18.300.000 euros.

For now, the deadline for submitting bids by construction companies to apply for their tender, which opened three months ago, has ended. And though The consistory has denied knowing which is the only company that has presented itself, the local formation Compromís per Pego assured in early March that those affected by the project had been informed of which company it was by the government.

The next controversial project has been the PAI Medina Lliber, whose development agent is the company Garsiva, part of the Vapf group. Also at the beginning of March, the news came out that the Contentious Administrative Court number 4 of Alicante had paralyzed the works of the project, something that Compromís per Llíber had been fighting for since the PAI was reactivated.

Specifically, what was challenged was the work on the collector to connect the sewage system, since said work is not part of the Partial Plan and therefore no environmental procedure would have passed. Despite this, Vapf assured that this was a municipal work and that the partial plan was continuing its course. This PAI in the small town of Llíber contemplates the creation of 488 houses in the long mountain.

Lastly, the least heard of is the urban plan projected in what is known as Sector C in El Verger. At the end of February, the Alicante Plaza newspaper reported that a company called Quadratia had bought the PAI on which it is planned to build 800 houses.

According to the newspaper, "it is an area of more than 235.000 square meters that was promoted in 2003 and was paralyzed between 2009 and 2010, due to the arrival of the real estate crisis. The sector has streets, half-built areas and damaged or obsolete public service networks.

The so-called Sector C is located behind a well-known factory in the municipality, next to Camí Vell de Gandía and the Barranc de Portelles. This area, with delimited streets and plots, is currently in disuse and is fenced off, as it entails a certain risk for pedestrians due to uncovered sewer holes and more dangerous surfaces. The partial plan would contemplate another mass of single-family homes, so common in that area of the town.

    Good Morning.
I have not been living in Denia for a long time, but I have been visiting it for more than 4 years.
I understand tourism development and its "tolls". But not to the point of destroying in return; what nature generously gave us for its care.
Where are they going to import the fertile land that part of this region still enjoys tomorrow, although for various reasons their crops are being abandoned?
Where is our orchard now, our oranges, citrus in general and so on? R. We know political issues and opaque parallel interests.
Dianeses. . Don't let this happen. Strengthen the industry, its industrial estates, agriculture. etc
Don't trust everything to tourism. A bad epidemic or a bad government sink it in a quarter of an hour. Civil society has to stop accommodating and recover a bit of the weight that corresponds to them and not entrust everything to politicians, that what prevails over them is the power of their parties and the management of budgets to squander them at will and lack of control. It is happening and we are seeing it and living it. Then let's not be deceived.

  2. Antonio García says:

Of course I totally agree with your opinion and it seems to me still very restrained and measured.
Of course we should mobilize and make people aware of what is at stake. And the absolute manipulation, deceit and impudence on the part of those directly responsible, representatives of the citizenry before the political governing bodies and the plenary session of the City Hall incapable of vore no mes there qui »the funds of the seua buchaca, sense to care about them res, l' interest. Of those who have chosen and represent them. …. intolerable!

  3. Ignacio says:

Let's see, are they bidding for urban projects for tourism speculation as public works? A golf course as public infrastructure? And no one says anything? The most normal thing...... And then some cry and others run off enriched and from the Generalitat and Madrid looking at the shrews that things... ..
