The drop in COVID cases in the Marina Alta continues to be constant. After a start to the year with the cumulative incidence soaring, it seems that the health situation maintains its good data. The new update of figures published by the Conselleria de Sanitat indicates that the incidence continues to decline and stands at 542,12 cases per 100.000 inhabitants. This represents a reduction of almost 200 cases, since last Tuesday it was 718 cases per hundred thousand.

By municipalities, those who have accumulated the most infections have been Dénia and Calpe. The capital of the region has added 97 new positives, although its cumulative incidence has gone from 586, on February 22, to 455 cases per hundred thousand inhabitants today. Calp, for its part, has registered 61 positives this day.

The other town with the most infections in three days is Xàbia, but the decrease in this municipality is very notable, since there are only 19 new ones. Only one more than Pego, the fourth municipality with the most new cases.

In the rest of the Marina Alta: Pedreguer adds 14 cases, Benissa and Orba 12 each, Teulada-Moraira 10, Ondara 7, El Verger 6, Gata de Gorgos and Vall de Gallinera add 5 each, Xaló 3, 2 new cases in El Poble Nou de Benitatxell, Vall de Laguar and Benigembla and, lastly, Els Poblets, Atzúbia, Murla and Castell de Castells add only 1 new case each.

The number of new infections today, Friday, February 25, is 269, which represents a total of 39.683 cases since the start of the pandemic. On the other hand, the number of active cases is currently 925, 301 less than on the last day.
