The events scheduled after midnight of the Sant Jaume de Ondara Festival are suspended due to the curfew

Health has informed the City Council of Ondara that the Consell has sent to the Superior Court of Justice of the Valencian Community an order in which it requests authorization to expand the localities in which the night curfew is applied. Among the new municipalities for which a night curfew is requested from 1 to 6 hours is Ondara, having an incidence of more than 250 active cases per 5.000 inhabitants (extreme risk) and having more than 310,91 inhabitants. Specifically, Ondara currently has an incidence of 20 active cases per hundred thousand inhabitants (according to data from July XNUMX).

Sant Jaume de Ondara festivities are suspended

The measures of the Consell currently in force to face the fifth wave of covid-19 include the closure of nightlife and the limitation of meetings to 10 people, as well as a curfew in 32 municipalities. They are valid until Sunday, July 25, so the extension to other towns, including Ondara, of the prohibition of night mobility, would come into effect from Monday 26.

In this regard, the City Council of Ondara has reported that this measure announced by the Ministry of Health regarding the inclusion of Ondara among the towns where the curfew has been requested, have led to the cancellation of some of the events provided for in the program of Sant Jaume 2021.

Specifically, the heifer releases scheduled for July 26, 27, 28 and 29 at 00:15 am in the Ondara Bullring will not be held. The City Council of Ondara confirms that the rest of the events will take place at the time established in the schedule, since there are events for children in the morning (12pm, in the tent on Nacions Sense Stat Street); bullfighting events and concerts at 20 pm (in the Plaza de Toros) and shows and musicals at 22 pm in calle Sant Jaume (which will be the last time slot in which the activities are held).

The City Council of Ondara has requested the collaboration of the citizens so that they follow all the protocols and security measures and established capacity, to be able to enjoy the Sant Jaume 23 program from July 1 to August 2021.
