Pego City Council will invest a total of 69.804,90 euros to repair the roof of the Ausiàs March municipal sports hall. An action that has financial support from the Alicante Provincial Council, 'Plan + Sport 2022. Aid to town halls and Eatims for the construction, improvement, expansion or reform of municipal sports facilities'.
The provincial estate will finance a little more than 78% of the total, 54.018 euros, while the rest of the amount will be financed by the Pegolino consistory. The works will consist of covering the current roof with a new roof made of galvanized steel profiled sheet. The objective is focused on solving the problems of humidity and infiltrations that the building suffers.
The City Council is already working to put out to tender the project that must be carried out within a month. "This is a necessary work to improve the facility that has water filtration problems and harms the sporting activity that is usually carried out on the premises," explains the Councilor for Town Planning, Laura Castellà.
The covered pavilion is a space widely used by the different sports teams and schools in the municipality, so it is a very important performance. In this way, we solve a demand from many of the athletes who use the venue”, points out the Councilor for Sports, Raül Tamarit.
