Orba City Council has organized the municipality's 'I Mostra d'Arts Escèniques' for next June 18 and 19. This event will fill the streets and public spaces of the town with magic, theater, music, dance and circus.
The ambitious cultural initiative, under the name 'Fora d'Órbita' in a clear play on the name of the town that hosts the exhibition, will bring more than a dozen companies to the town. All performances and shows will be free for all audiences. Local formations will participate in it, such as L'Escola de
Teatre, regional and throughout the Valencian territory.
The project, promoted by the Department of Culture and Heritage held by Guillem Marhuenda Mas and Rosana Oliver Caravaca, began a year ago now, when the town hall contacted Farfullit Teatre and Arrels Marinades, to propose the idea of developing a contest of this kind for the first time in the Marina Alta.
In this regard, Guillem Marhuenda Mas indicated that “in the Marina Alta there are examples of amateur theater such as that of Dénia or music festivals, but there is not an exhibition in the entire region that houses all performing disciplines.” Furthermore, he added that "there are many Valencians who have a high artistic level, they do not appear on TV, but they are great artists and we want Fora d'Órbita to be, in the near future, a reference for all of them."
For her part, the mayor Rosana Oliver Caravaca, pointed out that "culture and art are also a celebration and a fundamental part of our idiosyncrasy, because they generate an explosion of emotions in us, and after the two very hard years we have lived through, we were clear that people needed to recover the street and what better way to do it than with artists from home”.
Oliver indicated that they wanted the actions to be "in vain, because culture is as important as health or education" but they were aware that "we had a budget to respect and we had to try to add other institutions" such as the Diputación de Alicante who has shown his willingness to collaborate in the event.
Finally, Guillem expressed the desire of the government team that 'Fora d'Órbita' become a cultural and festive reference not only "in the Marina Alta but also in the rest of the Valencian territory" although, "we have to go step by step step and learn from each edition to improve it in the future”.
For her part, Nuria Gómez Bolufer, from Arrels Marinades, clarified that “from the moment they told us the idea we were excited because there are very good and talented artists who have been trained in recent years and who need formats and spaces to be able to act. Generating these spaces of quality but of proximity is fundamental to guarantee the
Professional future".
César Monzonís Cortell, director of Farfullit Teatre and the Mostra, explained that it has not been easy to find a date with good weather, that does not overlap with another powerful cultural or festive activity and that gathers the greatest number of artists”.
Monzonís thanked the "availability of the different companies to be able to adapt to the changes that were taking place" and expressed his desire that "both the residents of Orba and the rest of the surrounding municipalities come to Orba to enjoy the shows and the local gastronomy".
Programming Languages
The program starts on Saturday June 18 at 18:00 hours with a play for children by the company 'Monny Poppins & CIA'.
A las 20:00 hours, l'Escola de Teatre d'Orba will premiere 'Hablamos de amor'. The day will end with a monologue by Almudena Francés.
El Day 19 starts at 10:00 hours with the inauguration of a craft fireta set in the circus and with the representation of a storyteller by Pedreguer's company, L'Orácle de l'Est.
A las 11:00 hours Hugo Mage, from Alcoy, will make us vibrate with his show 'La carne de gallina' for the whole family.
A las 12:00 hours itinerant theater with the Valencian show 'Wolves' from the Fam Teatre and at 13:30 hours by local artist Fran Pintadera will delight us with 'How good you came' accompanied by a wine tasting.
A las 18:00 hours the contemporary circus show 'Desempolsant' by Aircarg Cia will be performed and finally, this show will close its first edition with the staging of 'Meugenio' by the
artist Toni Climent –impersonator authorized by Eugenio's own family– with a show that will pay tribute to the great comedian.
