Magic and illusion filled the streets of Ondara on the eve of Three Kings' Day with the parade that, organized by the Department of Festivals and Traditions (directed by Jordi Ruiz-Orejón), delighted children and adults last Friday January 5.
A Three Kings Parade 2024 that had the floats of the Three Wise Men and their entourages; music, animated characters, and a living Nativity scene in El Prado, among other animations. The Ondara Parade had a large delegation with the participation (among others) of the Union of Pensioners of Ondara, the Brotherhood of Christ of Agony, the Commission of Soledad 2024, the Association of Carreteros and Caballistas of Ondara, the Juniors Santa Anna, as well as the Ondara Housewives Association. It also featured musical entertainment by Ondara Colla de Dolçaines and tabals, the Ondara Musical Union and the Ondarattack percussion group; and the fantastic dances and choreographies of the Ondara Rhythmic Gymnastics School.
The 2024 Parade maintained the itinerary started in 2016, passing through the old national route to facilitate the arrival of the floats in which Melchor, Gaspar and Baltasar came to Ondara. The Parade ran along Germanies Street, Marina Alta Avenue, Pau and Sant Doménech Streets, until reaching Plaza del País Valencià and taking Doctor Fleming Avenue; from there, General Bosch and El Prado, inside which the Portal de Belén was mounted. The large inflatable Kings of light stood out.
The procession, which was led by the Kings and inflatable camel, and the SpongeBob SquarePants characters, moved to that location. The Three Wise Men arrived in three colorful floats, preceded by their boasts. There were also spectacular dance and musical performances, with all participants starring in a magnificent parade through the streets of the town.
Upon reaching the portal of Bethlehem, the Three Wise Men worshiped the baby Jesus, and then the Mayor of Ondara, José Ramiro, accompanied by the parish priest of Ondara, Ximo Silvestre, and the Councilor for Festivals and Traditions, Jordi Ruiz, took the stage. The Mayor welcomed the Kings for their arrival in Ondara. He conveyed his wishes of happiness to all the residents of the town, and above all good health for 2024. Afterwards, King Gaspar, representing his Majesties, addressed a few words to the families of Ondara.
Next, the Three Wise Men settled into their thunder, inside the Prado, and the boys and girls were able to talk to them and make their requests for gifts. There were hundreds of people of all ages who did not want to miss this emblematic event of the Three Kings Parade in Ondara, which stood out for its good organization and high participation.
The Councilor for Festivals and Traditions, Jordi Ruíz, wanted to thank all the participants for their attendance and contribution to making this event prepared with great enthusiasm a success, and he highlighted his gratitude to all the collaborators for their help in these events.
