Last morning the citizens of Calp gathered at the House of Culture to carry out the institutional act scheduled for International Women's Day. Thus, Noelia Císcar, Councilor for Equality, read the institutional manifesto of the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP).
The writing highlighted: "The pandemic is causing a negative impact on women's rights and we warn about the future consequences that this setback will have for future generations".
In addition, both she and the mayor, Ana Sala, they dedicated a words of support for the Ukrainian people and especially for Ukrainian women.
“It is a somewhat sad celebration for what Ukraine is going through,” Sala said. "Ukrainian women are showing great courage in this terrible situation they are experiencing. Some are already arriving in Calp and from the City Council we are working to give them the welcome they deserve and all the social support they may need."He added.
After the reading and the dedicated words photo exhibition opened Sporty women from Calp in the Exhibition Hall of the House of Culture. The pictures show great pioneer athletes of the municipality and other younger ones for whom sport is part of their lifestyle.
This is an exhibition that aims to give visibility to women in this field, as well as to claim their recognition and equality. The exhibition can be visited until March 30.
In this way, these were the first two acts planned in the programming for the 8M, which will be fully developed during the coming weeks.
