After the meeting at the PMA (Advanced Command Post) in Vall d'EBo, the Autonomous Secretary for Emergencies and Security, José María Ángel Batalla, stated that the efforts of the Firefighters are now focused on Tormos, Sagra and Fontilles. The deployment of means in the area is being intense so that the fire minimizes its action towards the center as much as possible.
The Provincial Firefighters Consortium has recently clarified that some relatives of residents of Fontilles have decided of their own free will to remove some inmates "out of prudence". However, they state that, for the time being, no eviction has been ordered. The Secretary of Emergencies, for his part, has declared that at all times they are in contact with the Ministry of Health, with the management of the center and with the relatives to start the transfers if necessary.
On the other hand, in Pego and l'Atzúbia the media have relaxed slightly, since the evolution of the fire has been more favorable towards Vilallonga. "Now this case is of less concern," said Àngel Batalla.
Weather conditions and storm forecast
Another of the factors highlighted by the Secretary after the meeting was the weather. The fire remains erratic due to unpredictable wind. "What is a cool, moist and positive wind here may not be so good elsewhere. Rekindling of the flames may occur in already controlled areas," he said.
Regarding the storms marked by the predictions, Àngel Batalla has announced: "They probably won't come loaded with water, although they will be accompanied by turbulence that will condition the evolution of the fire. These turbulences endanger the ability of aerial means to fly". So, the storms are not going to be dry, but they can compromise and endanger the work done in the last few hours.
