The Marina Alta is on a yellow alert from the AEMET for several days

January 16 from 2023 - 09: 38

The State Meteorological Agency has launched several warnings for wind and coastal phenomena throughout the first half of the week. Last Friday he already warned of the entry of a cold front that would cross the peninsula from northwest to southeast on Sunday and would give way to a polar air mass that would result in the arrival of winter in the region.

For this reason, from today, Monday, January 16, until Tuesday at 17:59 p.m., the region is on a yellow alert due to gusts of wind of up to 80 km/h. But this is not the only notice in force. Until next Wednesday, the alert for coastal phenomena due to the wind that could leave waves of up to 4 meters on the regional coast is also active.

With this, for the moment, the Marina Alta will leave behind the atypical high temperatures and will experience a drop in the thermometer. Something that will be more noticeable from Wednesday, with maximums that will not exceed 15ºC in the coastal area, although the previous days the thermal sensation will also be low due to the wind.
