The entire Marina Alta comes out of the extreme risk of contagion and less than half of the municipalities add new cases

11 March 2022 - 10: 42

The pandemic situation in the region continues more or less stable after the latest data update provided by the Department of Health. The entire department of Dénia is at high risk. That is, the cumulative incidence is between 300 and 500 cases per 100.000 inhabitants.

Specifically, this number is currently 312, 38. Which means that it is about to leave the orange strip, although it is still resisting. This is because has registered 169 new infections, 41 more than last Tuesday. Despite this, three days ago, Pedreguer and Vall de Gallinera were at extreme risk of contagion, while today no municipality in the Marina Alta regrets such high measurements.

In this way, today the incidence has dropped more than 21 points since the last update. For its part, the number of active cases in the region is 533 people infected, again, less than Tuesday.

On the other hand, of the 33 localities, only 14 have registered new positives among its inhabitants. Among them, as usual, Dénia and Xàbia. The capital of the region has added 45 new cases and a cumulative incidence of 380,6 cases per hundred thousand inhabitants, which lowers the figure by more than 70 points.

For its part, Xàbia is the one that can cause the most concern for the weekend. Today it has added 46 new infections, while on Tuesday there were only 27. This explains the sudden rise in its incidence by almost 100 points. The last update pointed to 271 cases per 100.000 inhabitants and today 380.

With the map, it is easily observed that no municipality is crossed out in garnet, which is a relief, especially in populations that had normally registered an extreme level of accumulated incidence, such as El Verger or Orba.

Breaking down this information, from highest to lowest number of new cases by locality, Calp adds 20, Pedreguer 11, Teulada 10, Benissa 9, El Verger 7, Pego 6, Ondara and Gata de Gorgos 5 each, Sanet and Orba 2 and, finally, Xaló and l'Atzúbia 1.

Finally, since the start of the pandemic, the Marina Alta has registered a total of 40.320 positives. With everything, this day has not been marked by any death, another good news for the near future of the pandemic, getting closer to 'getting the flu'.
