Jovi Seser achieves the Premi Llegir with his defense of alternative readings in adolescents

15 December 2021 - 15: 00

Jovi Lozano-Seser's showcase needs to be expanded. The writer and journalist from Ondara is one of the most recognized authors in the region. His works have received important awards, such as the prestigious Premi València Alfons el Magnànim for his You ask that they have to be remogudes. However, this occasion is special, as it has collected in Alzira one of those prizes that really fill up.

The Arriving Award of the Bromera Foundation for the Promotion of Reading is awarded to those authors who, through their published articles, highlight the importance of reading. That is to say, they reward the one who manages to promote reading, the one who gets a justified defense of it or reaches out for reflection. And there is no greater appreciation for a writer than for helping to grow and improve his own field.

Jovi Seser has done it and with it has obtained the Premi Llegir of this edition. He does it with the article, previously unpublished, Manifest for an instant analog. This serves as a synthesis of the decade that he has been writing and, more importantly, of how he has transferred his work to the institutes of the Marina Alta. His constant contact with the students, Seser tells us, has helped him to know what the true interests of adolescents are. That is why the writer is reluctant to receive criticism for an alleged lack of interest in literature. "It is said that they are not interested in reading because they do not read," says Seser, but considers that this is not true. "Literature is shared by many other means, and they are all valid today."

The author highlights the power that channels such as YouTube or videogames have to transfer literature to the youngest, creating another way of "reading" that, although far from the traditional one, is as valid as another. Even sometimes, to conquer teenagers, it is more effective than compulsory school readings, a technique that the author does not share.

A work with which Jovi Seser vindicates reading in other media and which has earned him this Premi Llegir, endowed with 500 euros.
