'Enclave Land Art' of the Vall de Gallinera opens the doors to new artistic projects for 2022

The Consorci de Museus presents the call for the fourth edition of Enclave Land Art, the project of artistic residences and research in nature that is part of the CMCV's Resident Culture program. The initiative has also confirmed the celebration of the second edition of the Enclave Cinema event on the weekend of September 23 to 25 in La Vall de Gallinera, Alicante.

Enclave Land Art is a two-week artistic production residency in which seven artists develop projects linked to an itinerary of art and nature, in the surroundings of La Vall de Gallinera. During their stay, the artists participate in presentations, workshops and visits that complement their work, which will be presented to the public in two open days the last weekend of the residency.

“The Enclave Land Art program reminds us, through unique artistic proposals that take place in a rural environment, of the need to reconnect with nature, establishing an interesting reflection on the relationship between human beings, the process of artistic creation and the environment. natural. And, to address this issue, there is no better place than a natural environment of great beauty such as La Vall de Gallinera”, assures the director of the Consorci de Museus and the CCCC, José Luis Pérez Pont.

The proposals, which may be presented from July 1 to September 15, can cover disciplines such as installation, land art, photography, anthropology, research, sculpture, performance and all those
artistic manifestations or lines of work raised from the dialogue between human beings and nature, which generate a reflection on the territory in which the projects will be developed, the Corrals de la Carroja route, in La Vall de Gallinera, to which they can be presented artists of any age or nationality.

The publication of the selected artists will be on September 25, 2022, within the framework of the Enclave Cinema film days, and the residence will take place from November 6 to 20, including an open house weekend to present the projects.

The Enclave Land Art project selection committee is made up of Rosa María Castells, curator and head of the MACA collection in Alicante; Amélie Aranguren, member of Campo Adentro/Inland and head of artistic programming at the Centro de Approach a lo Rural; Emilio Gallego, visual artist, curator, president of the La Espiral ACC collective and deputy coordinator of the Valencian association Artistes Visuals de València, Alacant i Castelló (AVVAC); Alejandro Maña, artist, researcher and professor at the Polytechnic University of Valencia and Miguel Mallol, as director of Enclave Land Art.

Enclave Cinema, from September 23 to 25

Enclave Land Art also presents the second edition of Enclave Cinema, a conference on cinema, identity and territory, which will be held the weekend of September 23-25, 2022 in La Vall de Gallinera.

Enclave Cinema was born on the basis of the growing use of the audiovisual medium as a transmitter of messages within the Enclave Land Art project, and offers invited festivals a platform for public exposure and visibility, in line with the projects worked on in La Vall de Gallinera.

Through the invitation to a different film festival in each edition, the City Council of La Vall de Gallinera and the Enclave Land Art association organize a series of screenings, colloquiums, round tables and presentations with the aim of generating participatory reflection.

The second edition of Enclave Cinema will include the participation of the Dona i Cinema – Mujer y Cine – Woman & Film International Biennial, a festival that celebrates its seventh edition in January 2023 and that gives visibility to the work of women in cinema and industry audiovisual.

The biennial was born as a speaker for the Women and Cinema association, created thanks to the efforts of professional women in the audiovisual sector in the city of Valencia, to show the best cinema made by women, together with a series of parallel activities to reflect on the role of women in the industry and promoting other looks not always represented on the big (and small) screen.
