The Calp PSOE intends to provide light to 10 municipal buildings with solar panels

18 October 2022 - 10: 36

Faced with the current energy crisis, the Socialist Municipal Group presented a motion last July at the Calp City Council that was unanimously approved and that contemplates the partial deduction of the IBI for all residents who install photovoltaic panels in their homes.

The proposal consists of installing photovoltaic panels for self-consumption on the roofs of public buildings. A project that, in addition to representing considerable savings in electrical energy, will also allow a significant reduction in CO2 emissions.

In this way, the Calpine socialists are firmly committed to clean energy and to the firm commitment to fight against climate change. "It makes no sense that in Calp the great potential of the climate with more than 300 days of sunshine a year is wasted", the Socialists point out and add that "it is urgent to overcome the current model of city that Calp has become, which turns its back on ecology and non-polluting energies, and design a new city that is sustainable, that puts Calp at the forefront of the XNUMXst century in terms of innovation and progress, that develops policies and investments that reduce its polluting capacity and that is committed to nature and green economies. Aware of this delay, of this hindrance, Calpine socialists have the firm intention of making Calp an example of a clean, efficient, sustainable and green city".

For the PSOE Calp, the adoption of urgent measures aimed at reducing C02 emissions by promoting public transport and reducing the use of private vehicles through an ambitious sustainable mobility project, as well as tax incentives for photovoltaic installations, is a priority. in private homes.

The installation of solar panels in municipal buildings is the first in a long list of proposals aimed at fighting climate change and turning Calp into a model of a sustainable and efficient city.
