The current councilors of Somos Calpe, Juan Manuel del Pino y Rebeca Merchán, who were previously part of the municipal group of the Ciudadanos political party, have announced the return of remaining funds from the allocation received in the previous legislature.
This is a “significant” amount, highlighted by their current group Somos Calpe, which amounts to 9.100 euros. These funds, derived from the allocation granted to each political group based on their electoral representation, will be returned to the single municipal fund.
Somos Calpe has reported that, although these funds will enter the single fund, the councilors express their desire for them to be allocated to a noble cause, such as supporting non-profit associations.
«We consider it crucial to act with transparency and responsibility in the management of public resources. For this reason, we have made the decision to return these remaining funds to the City Council, with the hope that they will be allocated to initiatives that truly benefit our municipality," said Juan Manuel del Pino.
For her part, councilor Rebeca Merchán added: «We feel committed to the well-being of our fellow citizens. "We believe these funds should be used effectively to improve the quality of life of those who need it most."
Somos Calpe has applauded the initiative of its councilors and supported them for "their commitment to transparency, integrity and public service."
