29 December 2021 - 16: 51

The Public Health commission, according to Europa Press, in which the Autonomous Communities and the Ministry of Health are represented, have agreed "unanimously" to modify the period of isolation of people positive for coronavirus.

With the new agreement, the quarantine of all the people confirmed as positive for COVID becomes seven days, compared to the ten that the protocol marked so far.

According to health sources, likewise, those people who are not vaccinated and who have been in close contact with a positive will also see their isolation period reduced to seven days. The rule already established that vaccinated people who were in close contact with positives should not quarantine.

The measure does not need to be ratified by the Interterritorial Council, so it will enter into force as soon as the decision of the Public Health Commission is published.

With this new decision, Spain follows the line of other countries such as the United States and the United Kingdom, with the reduction of confinements due to close contacts. Of course, Spain has remained between what it had set and other countries have determined. Neither 10 nor 5 days. There are going to be seven here.
