The mayor of Teulada-Moraira accuses a city council technician of losing a grant to attack the government

Who is responsible for losing the ECOVID21 grant to help youth unemployment in Teulada-Moraira? This issue continues to bring a tail.

On October 14, the opposition (made up of Compromís and two non-attached councilors) blamed the mayor, Raúl Llobell, for having signed the document late.

A few hours later, the mayor himself issued a statement to deny the opposition. At that time, providing official documentation, he said he had signed the grant "54 minutes after receiving it" and promised an internal investigation when he did not know what had happened.

That investigation has led him today to explain at a press conference, in which he has also provided official documentation, what according to the first mayor has happened. For Llobell, the responsibility falls on a technician from the Employment department and, according to him, "this has all the earmarks of allegedly being more than orchestrated."

Grant deadlines

Llobell explains that the grant expired on July 23. "From the 16th day, everything could have been sent to receive the subsidy because there was the necessary documentation and it was not necessary to pass it through the government board or for me to sign it." Llobell explains that, in fact, the previous year did not need any of that.

But it did go through the government board, as a matter of urgency, on the 22nd. However, on the 23rd it did not appear either and it was not until the 26th that it reached the mayor to sign it. "It arrived on the 26th in the morning and after 20 minutes I had already signed it but it was not necessary because we were already out of time and that the competent official should have known.

Accusation of leaking private files

But the facts do not stop there. "Not only is the subsidy lost due to poor processing, but the file that is not public is filtered and is published on social networks on October 14," Llobell argues.

Against the competent technician corresponding to the Department of Development, the mayor has started a disciplinary file since, according to him, "they wanted to lose the subsidy to attribute it to the local government, but with public money, no policies can be made against any government."

With these grants, Teulada-Moraira would have received 118.740,50 euros to hire young unemployed personnel.
