They denounce the chaos suffered by the rain in the Dénia hospital due to the lack of maintenance

15 September 2023 - 16: 29

Corridors with leaks, elevators disabled or the parking lot unusable because it is flooded. That is the chaos that health professionals from the hospital itself have conveyed throughout the morning. The hospital, which will become public management in February 2024, is in deplorable conditions after the rains that have fallen in recent hours.

From Compromís, a situation has been reported for some time that is similar to what has been experienced in other reversals, where Ribera Salud (concessionaire company) stopped carrying out maintenance and repairs as the contract end date approaches.

According to Carles Esteve, health spokesperson, “once again the privatizations of the PP are expensive for us. Ribera Salud has become accustomed to doing the minimum for health and earning the most. In just over four months the hospital will pass into public hands and we can now say that putting it back into operation with guarantees will involve a strong investment.”

For Gerard Fullana, deputy for Compromís de la Marina Alta, “health professionals have been complaining about the lack of maintenance at the hospital. Working in these conditions is inhumane and dangerous, also for patients. The region deserves health care in conditions like they have in the rest of the public hospitals.”

In recent weeks, support for reversal and public management has multiplied. Unions, patients, health professionals, mayors of the affected municipalities of any political color agree in betting on public management that improves health care in the region after fifteen years of privatization.

On the other hand, Hospital workers have explained to this medium that repair works are being carried out on the roofs of the outpatient consultation area, which may be one of the consequences that has led to more water leaking today and flooding hallways. .
