The Costa Blanca Board organizes, in collaboration with the Norwegian and Finnish Tourist Offices, a fam trip or familiarization trip with the aim of showing the responsible technicians the most important sports facilities in the province, as well as numerous natural resources for the practice of various disciplines.
During these days, until Sunday, October 30, the Nordic agents will visit the municipal facilities of Elche, Torrevieja, Alicante, L'Alfàs del Pi and La Nucia. In addition, they will also learn about the private offer of clubs and hotels with sports areas in Alicante, Dénia, Pedreguer and Benidorm.
According to the director of the Provincial Tourism Board, José Mancebo, "displacements and stays for sporting purposes continue to be one of the most demanded products in our province, since there are more and more travelers, especially foreigners, arriving in our municipalities. to practice some modality of the many that are offered”.
Professionals from the sector from Finland and Iceland work with both amateur and professional sports groups and want to learn more about the province's proposals, from north to south, regarding facilities and hotels with areas and services in this niche.
“The Finnish and Icelandic markets have reactivated after the pandemic and are growing exponentially in the number of visitors, as reflected in the excellent connectivity data”, Mancebo detailed. In addition, he explained that the Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernández Airport has 246 flights connecting with the city of Helsinki and 59 with the city of Reykjavik this year during the winter period.
