In the absence of approving in extraordinary plenary session on Friday, July 29, the expropriation agreement for the Casa Beltrán property, the Calp City Council has announced that it will allocate said building to recover the Museu Fester. Thus, this new museum will be located on Calle Justicia number 2.
The Consistory has announced that, after months of negotiation, it has reached an agreement with the owners of the property. Therefore, it will be expropriated for 348.872,47 euros.
From the mayor's office, instructions have been given that, once the point of the plenary session is approved, the Department of Territory begins the rehabilitation project of the building respecting the original architecture as much as possible.
The Museu Fester was for years one of the most visited attractions in the old town of Calp, however the property where it was located, privately owned, did not guarantee the good conservation of the elements on display. Now it is intended to reopen a space for the different festivals of the town that allows the celebrations to be shown to visitors.
The mayor of Calp, Ana Sala, has pointed out: "Opening the Fester Museum is one of our legislature objectives, but it is important to do it in a unique space, in the old town, and the Casa Beltrán located between Calle Justicia and Plaza de España is the ideal place, It will allow us to show what our festivals are like all year round and it will also be a recognition for the local festive entities".
