The Jove Ballet de La Marina presents itself as a non-profit amateur initiative that seeks to cover the need for acquisition of stage experience before taking the leap to higher dance studies.
«We have detected that the Marina Alta is a region with many people dedicated to dance and that they need some prior steps before starting to study in professional conservatories. There is no company of this type in the entire area and we want give the opportunity to young dancers who want to cover that stage», explained the director of the Jove Ballet de La Marina and coordinator of the Gata de Gorgos Municipal Dance School, Laura Perelló.
Together with Laura Perelló, Toni Signes, councillor for Education in Gata, has revealed some of the details of this newly launched regional dance company. The Jove Ballet is born independently of the School, although its origin is forged from within it. «The Gata City Council will support the new Jove Ballet of La Marina, providing teaching staff from the school, as well as the space necessary to get it started,” Signes detailed.
However, the idea is to separate it from the purely municipal sphere so that the company's sights go much further. «In addition, the Jove Ballet has been proposed so that has no financial cost for the students. We wish the dance company the best of luck so that they can bring their enthusiasm for this art to the general public," the councilor has been sincere. It is expected that the operation will be autonomous, so they are open to the collaboration of companies and entities that believe in the new project and decide to endorse it.
The first auditions and performances of the Jove Ballet de La Marina
For his part, Perelló has specified that the Access tests will be next June 8, auditions that will serve to determine the technical level of future students and their academic ability, this being the opportunity to be part of the Jove Ballet de La Marina. The Registration will be open from May 6. "There will be auditions for each season, which will be from July to July of the following year, so that the company can renew itself and give more dancers in the region the opportunity to grow," detailed the coordinator of the Dance School and Jove Ballet. .
The new Jove Ballet de La Marina has taken official form with force. During the presentation this morning, both representatives of the initiative revealed the logo that will be part of the company's identity. Created by Arte en blanco, by Dianense Blanca Fernández, it captures the delicacy and passion that define the disciplines that the regional entity will cover, the ballet and contemporary dance.
Finally, and as a preview of the first steps of the first dance company in the Marina Alta, Perelló and Signes have revealed that At the end of the year they plan to hold the first official representation of the first tour of the Young Ballet of La Marina.
