The consistory is committed to Open Government by promoting the Provincial Meeting framed within the I Open Government Action Plan of Benissa 2021-2024, which will be attended by public representatives of the province, and in which specialists of recognized prestige from the main Alicante universities will present improvement proposals for an administration that is closer to the citizenry.
The event will begin with speeches by the Mayor of Benissa, Arturo Poquet Ribes, the Councilor for Citizen Participation, Rosa Lucía Pino García, who will open the session, as well as Jose Luis Sahuquillo Orozco, Executive Director of EQUÀLITAT, participació i Igualtat, external collaborating consultant for this project.
The event will take place on June 2 at the Les Cases del Batlle Cultural Space and will serve to work on aspects such as the impact of the pandemic on participatory democracy, new channels for citizen participation or good practices in open government. .
The councilor, Rosa Lucía Pino, explained that it is an event in which "we have been working for months in collaboration with a specialized consultant and that is part of the municipal strategy of the current government team with which we intend to reinforce the tasks in citizen participation.
The mayor, Arturo Poquet, who will host the conference, has highlighted the importance of continuing to set a political agenda hand in hand with the citizens to "improve our town together".
