AEMET activates the red alert in the Marina Alta, the highest level, due to rainfall

25 September 2022 - 17: 46

Extreme risk throughout the Marina Alta region due to heavy rains. This has been decreed by the State Meteorological Agency when activating the red alert throughout the north coast of the province of Alicante.

What started as a yellow alert has now increased to red due to increased rainfall in various parts of the Marina Alta. Since 16:00 this Sunday there have been locally torrential episodes of rain. The case of Pego stands out, where, according to the AEMET, 193 liters per square meter have been collected in 12 hours.

This extreme level of risk will encompass the remainder of Sunday, until 06:00 on Monday morning. Once finished, the alert level will change to orange until 18:00 p.m. that day.

Indeed, in Jávea it has rained a lot tonight. And, like every time the rain falls, in our building the backyard has flooded again, where the parking lot is, several garages or premises and an apartment. As I am the President of this Community, I immediately called Amjasa to report it, since I know from experience that it is their technicians who fix these disasters when they can. When I was talking to the lady who kindly attended me, I could see that one of these technicians had already come, so I told her that it was no longer necessary for her to continue with my call.
And, again, and it is the SIXTH FLOOD that we have suffered in less than a year. Given my ignorance of technical issues, the only thing I can argue is that it seems that these floods are caused by the poor or non-functioning of the sewage extraction pumps that run along the Canal de la Fontana (Canal Norte street), that are located next to and under the Canal bridge due to LACK OF ELECTRICAL POWER that prevents the three extraction pumps from working at the same time, so only one can work and this is not enough to pump the water from an abundant rain. If so, DOES THE CITY COUNCIL DO NOT HAVE SUFFICIENT FUNDS TO INCREASE THE ELECTRICAL POWER of these pumps and thus eliminate this problem? WHERE DO OUR TAXES GO? WILL SOMEONE IN CHARGE OF THE TOWN HALL ANSWER ME? It is a shame that is repeated continuously, nobody does anything, except some very friendly technicians who come immediately to solve what they can and when they can, without, it seems, the Very Illustrious, Very Loyal and Very Useless City Council giving a damn about them citizens we support them.

The residents of Arenal should initiate a collection of signatures, a demonstration and make a document listing everything they need there, I do not live in Arenal but I empathize with you, it is deplorable that after so many years it is still flooded, please, is there to wait for a misfortune to happen to fix it? The water seeps in and can cause a landslide or open a hole in the middle of the road. On top of that, they don't have a Health Center while there are too many people in the one in town (I don't know the situation of the one in the port), they don't have a library or institute, everyone who goes from the port to the sandbank and vice versa at 7.45:XNUMX in the morning goes to the kids from Arenal walking up to the Port, gentlemen of the town hall, in winter people live in Arenal and it is not a few, the Arenal school is the school in Xàbia with the largest number of students, seriously, do they not realize or do they interested in doing anything? El Arenal, like the rest of the municipality, has always been a family area, if they had done what should be done instead of promoting that it be only a place for discos, there would not be so many crimes but of course, to the socialists what they like is to keep tourism happy and the inhabitants experiencing hardships, see the case of Cuba, seafood, beef, etc. it is in the hotels for the tourist, while the inhabitants hardly even find it and if they find it they cannot afford it, even if they see a Cuban talking to a tourist a police officer quickly approaches because they do not want the tourist to know the Actually, it is not even allowed for tourists to get on the public transport used by Cubans so that they do not interact, this is real, I am not making it up, look it up on YouTube, it is the testimony of a Cuban, the same does not happen here but There are things in which I see a relationship, call me crazy.
