Teulada Moraira loses a blue flag for its beaches: what are the reasons?

May 08 from 2024 - 14: 32

Teulada Moraira has been recognized among the three municipalities in Spain with the safest beaches and the best lifeguard services. This distinguished recognition, granted by the Environmental and Consumer Education Association (Adeac), highlights the professionalism of the lifeguard services on the coasts of the municipality, placing it on the podium of the safest beaches in Spain, next to Málaga and San Fernando in Cádiz.

With special attention, El Portet, Les Platgetes and L'Ampolla have been recognized for their exceptional rescue service. Likewise, the beaches of El Portet and Les Platgetes and, also, the Club Náutico Moraira have received the Blue Flag distinction again.

According to the periodic studies of water quality on the beaches during the bathing season carried out by the Generalitat Valenciana, it is important to highlight that the beaches of Portet, Platgetes and l'Ampolla have maintained their level of excellence.

However, a change has been observed in L'Ampolla's rating, which has gone from excellent to good in only two of the 16 samples analyzed. This slight variation has resulted in the non-renewal of the blue flag this year in this area, given that one of the imperative requirements is to achieve maximum excellence in all evaluable criteria, which include, in addition to water quality, aspects such as Information and Environmental Education, Environmental Management, and Safety and Services, which are met with maximum excellence on the three beaches.

«This distinction promotes Teulada Moraira's commitment to the safety and well-being of our bathers. It inspires us and guides us in the continuous search for excellence, which is why we continue to work hard to maintain high standards in all our services and guarantee a quality experience for those who visit us and for those who reside here," said the Councilor for Beaches. and Environment, Pilar Vidal.
