The much-demanded coastal train that will connect Dénia-Oliva-Gandia is still in the air. During the visit that Ximo Puig made today to Xàbia, the media have asked him again about the long-awaited coastal train that will link La Safor and the Marina Alta.
In this sense, Puig has stressed that "the coastal train is an essential infrastructure for the Region" but that it is a complex project because there are many environmental aspects involved.
In addition, he has announced that next September he will meet with the new Minister of Transport, Raquel Sánchez Jiménez to convey the importance of starting this project.
Puig has even proposed to carry out a "public-private agreement to carry out this work."
The coastal train is essential for a region like the Marina Alta, which has little and bad communication with the rest of the community and the country that only has the AP-7 to get around, a road that in these summer months is completely overwhelmed of vehicles and in which mileage retentions are frequent.
