The Moors and Christians festival in Benissa returns to the municipality to be held From 24 to June 27. Some dates in which all the popular acts that characterize the beloved festivities will be concentrated. To prepare the atmosphere, the previous weekend there will already be some activity designed to welcome the festivities in the town.
Saturday 18 June
- 19:30 p.m. — Festive music concert in the square of l'Esglèsia Vella
- 22:00 p.m. — Concentration of the filaes in Plaça Rei Jaume I. Brotherhood dinner.
- 24:00 p.m. — Orchestra Scream in Plaça Rei Jaume I, with bar service.
Friday June 24
- 23:00 p.m. — Pennant presentation ceremony in the castle grounds. street cry of parties by D. Miguel Ángel Soliveres Fullana. At the end of the act, firing of the fireworks castle in charge of pyrotechnics Hnos. Caballer. Later, in Plaça Rei Jaume I, a performance by the Euphoria orchestra, with bar service.
Saturday 25 June
- 12:30 p.m. — Reminder of the deceased festeros in the municipal cemetery.
- 19:30 p.m. — Entrance of music bands.
- 20:00 p.m. — Enters of Moors and Christians (Entrance of the Christian and Moorish troops without festive charges) from Valencia Street to the end of Carrer Nou. This year the chairs will be free.
Dominican 26 June
- 11:00 a.m. — Parade of all the filaes to visit the nursing home, carrying the image of Sant Pere Apòstol.
- 12:00 p.m. — Offering and mass in honor of our patron saint, Sant Pere Apòstol.
- 18:30 p.m. — Children’s entrance and XXX squad corporals contest.
- 20:15 p.m. — Siege of the Moorish side from the Plaça del Convent to the castle grounds.
- 21:15 p.m. — Moorish embassy and seizure of the castle by the troops of the Moorish side.i
Lunes de junio 27
- 10:30 a.m. — Siege of the Christian side, from Plaça del Portal to the castle grounds.
- 11:00 a.m. — Christian embassy and reconquest by the Christian forces of the town of Benissa in the castle grounds.
- 19:30 p.m. — Informal and humorous parade of music bands.
- 20:00 p.m. — Humorous parade of all the filaes. We inform attendees that there will be no seating service to view the parade.
