Benissa Moors and Christians Program 2023

The Moors and Christians festival in Benissa returns to the municipality to be held the 24 3 June to July. Some dates in which all the popular acts that characterize the beloved festivities will be concentrated.

Saturday 24 June

• 12: 00 hours: Vermouth tasting in Dolors Piera Park, until 14:00 p.m.
• 19: 30 hours: Banderines parade and festive charges.
• 20: 30 hours: Act of presentation of pennants, standard-bearers, and captains in the Castle grounds, and proclamation of festivities by Quico Llopis Ivars. At the end of the event, a fireworks display by the Hnos. Caballer pyrotechnics.

• 22: 00 hours: Concentration of the filades and brotherhood dinner in the Dolores Piera park.
• 24: 00 hours: Performance in the Dolores Piera park by the La Pato Orchestra. Bar service for the benefit of the filades capitanes 2024: Conquerors and Beduïnes.

Thursday June 29

• 19: 30 hours: Inauguration at the Nou Casal dels Jovens of the Exhibition of Drawings made by the children's students of the Padre Melchor and Manuel Bru schools. It can be visited from July 29 to July 7 from 09:00 a.m. to 14:00 p.m. and on Thursday, July 6 from 09:00 a.m. to 19:00 p.m. in the castle grounds.
• 20: 00 hours: Festival Music concert on the façade of the Basilica de la Puríssima Xiqueta by the Societat Lírica Musical de Benissa and the Colla de Xirimiters Pere Bigot. During the ceremony, costume awards ceremony for the Moors and Christians Festival 2022; XXX Children's and youth squad corporal contest; and Children's Drawing Contest.

Friday June 30

• 22: 30 hours: Siege by the Moorish side from the Plaza del Convento to the Castle.
• 23: 30 hours: Moorish Embassy and capture of the Castle by the troops of the Moro side.
• 00: 30 hours: Musical performance by the La People Band orchestra in Jaume I square. Bar service to benefit the filades capitanes 2024: Filà Conqueridores and Filà Beduïnes.

Saturday 1 July

• 12: 00 hours: Reminder of the deceased festeros in the municipal cemetery.
• 18: 30 hours: Parade of all the filades carrying Saint Peter the Apostle. At the end, offering and mass in honor of our patron Saint Peter the Apostle.

• 20: 30 hours: Children's Entry and XXXI Children's and Youth Caps d'Esquadra Contest.
• 23: 00 hours: Siege by the Christian side, from the Plaza del Portal to the Castle grounds.
• 00: 00 hours: In the grounds of the Castle, Christian embassy and reconquest by the Christian forces of the town of Benissa. At the end, night of cabils.

Sunday July 2

• 11: 00 hours: Parade of all filades.
• 19: 30 hours: Entrance of music bands.
• 19: 45 hours: Arrancà de l'entrà. Opening ceremony of the gala parade by Jose Andrés Cabrera Ribes and Nuria Ivars Bertomeu.

• 20: 00 hours: Gala parade from Valencia street to Nou.i street

Monday July 3

• 11: 00 hours: Parade of the filades and visit to the Nursing Home.
• 19: 30 hours: Informal parade of music bands.
