The Valencian Institute of Business Competitiveness (IVACE) has awarded a subsidy to the Pego City Council that it will allocate to the works of the future library in the old Cervantes school. The amount of the aid amounts to 486.656,75 euros, which will be used to improve the roof of the building.
The action will focus on investments in thermal envelope reform and improvement of energy efficiency of thermal installations.
It is a subsidy granted by the public entity within the energy rehabilitation program for existing buildings. The total amount of the action will be 768.285 euros, so the IVACE will be responsible for just over 63% of the amount, the rest, 281.628,25 euros, will be financed by the Pego City Council.
This aid, requested by the City Council a few months ago, will have a positive impact on the municipal coffers, “since the investment cost will be less. Pego had requested this aid from the Provincial Council of Alicante along with other amounts for the works of the library, but this section was not granted to us”, indicates the Councilor for Urbanism, Laura Castellà.
The Diputación did approve, at the beginning of the year, the financing of 950.000 euros for the rehabilitation of the building. This money is intended for the comprehensive rehabilitation of the building that will have different units. The main space will be the one that will house the library, but it will also have an assembly room, a computer room and a drinking room, a space dedicated and conditioned to the little ones. To this action must be added 620.304,88 euros to be assumed by the City Council.
