As a way of preparing for the day, which will take place on Tuesday, February 21, the City Council has convened a masterclass for the smallest and smallest of the municipality the day before to teach them how to cook the most famous and native dish of Pego.

The class will be on Monday, February 20 at 17:30 p.m. in the Plaça de l'Ajuntament and will be directed by the renowned Pegolí chef Evarist Miralles. This is an event organized by the Consell d'Infància i Adolescència, through the Departments of Education, Equality and Tourism whose objective is to make the secrets of the most precious dish for the pegolinos and pegolinas known to the little ones.

Evarist and about fifteen boys and girls, all of them active members of the Consell d'Infància i Adolescentes, will cook crusts. Each participant will have a surprise box with the necessary products to cook this recipe. The chef will explain the steps to follow and the secrets to achieve the excellence of this dish. He will also explain the importance of betting on the consumption of local products.

«This masterclass is open to all neighbors. Although only about fifteen boys and girls actively participate, whoever wants to can come to Plaça de l'Ajuntament to see this culinary show at the hands of a great chef”, comments the Councilor for Equality, Merxe Bolta. «Arròs amb crosta is more than a recipe for pegolinos and pegolinas, which is why we want it to last and there is nothing better than teaching it to the little ones.
