The consistory presents the Avancem program, a conglomerate of actions that will take place over the next few months
Get a more accessible and sustainable town. That is the proposal of the new Avancem program, a conglomerate of actions, mainly urban planning, that the Pego City Council will develop over the next few months. It is a series of works that seek to improve different spaces and areas of the municipality.
Initially 14 actions are scheduled, some of them have been taking place since 2021, the goal is to complete them during this academic year 2022. This list of works includes actions of great magnitude such as the remodeling of the Cervantes library, the adaptation of the industrial estate or a road education park, among others. Although there are also smaller ones "but necessary", points out the councilor for Urbanism, Laura Castellà. Highlights include the installation of a playground in the Penya del Gat area, the School Routes or the change in bus stops.
The amount to undertake these actions amounts to 2.810.261,42 euros. Some of the investments are financed through grants from the Generalitat, the Alicante Provincial Council and the IVACE. In fact, the subsidized amount amounts to 2.027.461,92 euros of the total, with which 6 of the 14 actions will be carried out.
While others "it is the City Council who has opted to assume them, because we believe that these are necessary works to improve the urban environment of the town as well as the lives of the neighbors", remarks the person in charge of Urban Planning.
