Commerce and culture come together in Pego to celebrate tomorrow, Friday, December 10, the 'Nit en Blanc'. It is a pre-Christmas day designed to promote culture among residents as well as buy it in the establishments of the municipality, and in which the Pego City Council and the local Merchants Association collaborate jointly.
Although the highlight of the day will take place in the afternoon, the programming will begin in the morning, since from 9.30:XNUMX a.m. you will be able to contemplate a spectacular 'Christmas Table' made by the establishments of the Association of Pego merchants. A table that does not lack detail to celebrate a Christmas dinner and that will be raffled entirely among the neighbors who participate in the raffle that the merchants have organized.
Also in the House of Culture, although starting at 17:30 p.m., an exhibition will open to the public with the winning work of the XLV Vila de Pego painting contest, by Jorge Llopis Jordà, and in which the winning creations from other years of the same contest. "In the exhibition you can learn more about the works and their creators through QR codes that can be scanned while contemplating the paintings," explains the Councilor for Culture, Laura Castellà.
At the same time, the shops of the municipality, already decked out for Christmas, will be open throughout the day and until 21:30 p.m. so that neighbors can make their purchases. "Some have prepared a surprise for their customers," explained this morning Diana Sendra, the president of the Pego Merchants Association.
For Sendra, the Nit en Blanc is "a new opportunity to promote purchases in local stores". To achieve a more festive atmosphere, a total of 18 establishments of the association have decided to participate in the decorating contest for sideboards, "a jury will pass through all the establishments today to reward the most Christmases", points out the Councilor for Commerce, Ricardo Sendra. The awards will be released on Friday at 21:30 p.m. at the Casa de Cultura.
Inside this same municipal building there will be a small market with Christmas products that can be purchased in some of the municipal establishments, also in the afternoon. In addition, the residents of Pego will be able to enjoy the local gastronomy after passing through the art exhibition.
