The mayor of Pedreguer, Sergi Ferrús, in an event in which the Sports Councilor, Pepe Cabrera, also participated, signed this Monday, January 16, the renewal of the collaboration agreement with the professional Valencian pilota player Pere Ribes, a native of the municipality.
The agreement establishes that the Pedreguer City Council will contribute again to the athlete's activity with a financial contribution during the 2024 season, in exchange for Ribes agreeing to show off the institution's corporate image on his playing equipment.
Ferrús explained that this initiative aims to continue "contributing to the promotion of Valencian pilota, in its professional aspect" and, by extension, "continue providing support to the municipality's athletes, so that they can achieve the development of their objectives and that this "This fact has a positive impact on our population as a whole."
Political leaders have highlighted the importance of institutions promoting the practice of sport, and in particular pilota, "a genuinely Valencian sport, and for the continuity of which it is necessary to guarantee not only a correct training circuit but also a viable itinerary of professionalization.
Along the same lines, the Pedreguer City Council continues working to have a pilot ratchet in the best conditions, which led them a few months ago to make an investment to improve the installation with polishing and sanitation work on the playing surface.
